The Water & Wastewater Leadership Center arms utility executives with the management and leadership skills they need to excel as they meet the challenges of today – and seize the opportunities of tomorrow. Tuition for The Water & Wastewater Leadership Center is $12,950. Included in tuition are 10 full days of instruction, curriculum materials, residential accommodations and most meals. Tuition must be paid in full no later than January 20, 2017.

The Letter of Intent should outline the student’s reasons for applying to and attending The Leadership Center, describe the applicant’s current leadership role within his/her agency and outline his/her goals for the future. Students are strongly encouraged to apply early due to the high level of interest in the Leadership Center. Applications are considered in the order in which they are received; however, please note that preference is given to applicants from municipalities based in the United States.
If a candidate is accepted to the Leadership Center and is unable to attend, an alternate candidate may be nominated before January 20, 2017. Please notify Bredy Trombino, Water & Wastewater Leadership Center Program Administrator, at 202-533-1820 immediately if a candidate change is necessary. Cancellations received after November 18, 2016, but before January 20, 2017, will incur a charge of 50% of the total tuition fees. Substitutions will not be allowed after January 20, 2017. Cancellations after January 20, 2017 will be charged full tuition.
To facilitate attendance by utility leaders with travel prohibitions to North Carolina, the 2017 Water & Wastewater Leadership Center will be convened at the Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Virginia. All classes will be taught by the Center’s existing exceptional faculty from the Kenan-Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The facilities at Lansdowne include newly renovated guestrooms, over 55,000 square feet of meeting space, a fully equipped fitness center, a business center, daily coffee and newspaper in the lobby and self-parking.
Leadership Center participants are responsible for their own transportation costs. The Lansdowne Resort is conveniently located Leesburg, VA, just eight miles from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and less than an hour from the nation’s capital.
Participants should plan to arrive in Leesburg the afternoon of Sunday, February 26, 2017. Departure should be scheduled after 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 9, 2017 or in the morning of Friday, March 10, 2017.
Lansdowne provides a paid shuttle service for arriving and departing flights at Dulles International Airport. The shuttle requires a $30.00 fee per person each way and reservations for the shuttle are required a minimum of 24 hours in advance. The shuttle operates daily between the hours of 6:00 am and 12:00 am (midnight). Departures from the resort leave every half hour beginning at 6:00 am and ending at 11:30 pm based on advanced reservation. Airport arrival shuttle pick-ups begin at 6:30 am and end at 12:00 am (midnight) from curbside 2H located outside Dulles International Airport below baggage claim based on advanced reservation.
